Gulf Coast Poker Run
You don’t have to own a boat to find plenty of fun during the Emerald Coast Poker Run. This is the 27th anniversary of the annual boating event, presented by the Emerald Coast Foundation as part of Boat Week, August 7-10. And it’s the largest summer poker run in the U.S., annually earning around $150,000 and benefitting the ECF, which raises funds for Northwest Florida children’s charities and youth organizations. To date, the ECF has raised more than $2.5 million for local kids in need.
In addition to the poker run, the week’s events include boat parades, contests, live music, food, and more. Following are some of the highlights:
Poker run in Mississippi waters. Skip navigation Sign in. Weekend Poker run Gulf Coast Mississippi in Fountain Center Console. Team Intense 2018 MGCBC Gulf Wahoo Fishing - Duration. The poker run will begin at American Legion Post 99 in Foley where participants will receive the first card of their hand. Players will travel to River Pub in Bay Minette, American Legion Post 199 in Fairhope, Doc Holiday’s in Foley, Bama Buds Bar in Foley and receive a card at each location.
– Blues, Brews, and BBQ Party, official kickoff party for the event, AJ’s on the Bayou, Wednesday, August 7, 6 p.m.
– Miss Boat Week Bikini Contest, Thursday, August 8, The Block, Fort Walton Beach, 8 p.m.
– Sponsor Party, Thursday, August 8, Floyd’s Shrimp House, Okaloosa Island Boardwalk, 5:30-7 p.m.
– Rockin’ the Docks Captains Party, Friday, August 9, AJ’s Destin, 7-10 p.m.
– “The Big One,” the famous Emerald Coast Poker Run, Saturday, August 10, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participating boaters will collect their cards at designated checkpoints along a route that includes Fort Walton Beach, Navarre, Pensacola Beach, and Destin. Spectators are invited to gather at the various stops to join in the fun. Stops are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; click here for a list and map of the stops.
– Emerald Coast Poker Run Party, Saturday, August 10, 6-11 p.m., Emerald Coast Convention Center. Enjoy poker (the boaters will play their hands), blackjack, a silent auction, all you can eat, and an open bar!
